serve

Matthew 25.35-40

35 For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. 36 I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’

37 “Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing?39 When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’

40 “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’

Serving in our community simply comes down to a mindset.  We believe that being the hands and feet of Jesus require us to see people the way that Jesus sees them.  Understanding that God is always speaking to us and attempting to get our attention is a valuable discipling that we live out in order to see the needs around us.

Lynchburg College is where our community is based out of, as well as the location of where the majority of our community comes from.  This being said, we believe that serving also involves being active with the current serving opportunities through the College as well as looking for unique ways to serve those who get overlooked as missional ways to serve those on the campus.

Local Churches also play in a huge role in our partnerships when it comes to serving.  We partner with local churches whenever we are not serving on the campus at Lynchburg College to help our local city and those we meet get their needs met as well as connect with local churches that we fully stand behind and support.

Every week we hope to be active in some way as we help bring the Kingdom of heaven to earth and allow others to see Jesus in our lives.  Living on mission implies a lifestyle and our hope is that others see Jesus through our lives as we serve and love on those we come in contact with.
